XH-9 is used commercially in drying refrigerants in air conditioners, iceboxes and refrigerators in cars, station wagons,etc...

Molecular Sieve XH-9 is a highly porous, crystalline alkali metal alumino-silicate in beaded form. It's the potassium form of the typ A crystal structure. The pore opening in the crystals have a diameter of approximately 3A ( 3 angstroms). It's large enough to allow in moisture, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons, which can potentially from polymers. Typical Chemical Formula:

72Na48[(AlO2)12(SiO2)12]. XH2O Recommended Applications Molecular Sieve XH-9 has been specially developed for use of refrigerant drying (e. G. R22, R134a, 404, 407 etc). It has the following characters: --High chemical compatibility with the particular refrigerant --High mechanical strength and particle integrity necessary to prevent Crushing or attrition --High moisture adsorption Packaging Information Molecular sieve XH-9 is supplied in 55 gal. Steel drum of 180 kg. Hand & Storage Recommendation It should be handled to avoid generation of dusty conditions at the workplace. Storage in a dry warehouse is recommended. Open packages should be resealed to prevent contamination and adsorption of water or other gases and vapors.
